Long grain rice for a variety of dishes:

Cigala Agulha rice is an aromatic long-grain rice from Portugal. It is characterized by its extra-long and slender grains, which remain fluffy and grainy when cooked.

Ideal for:

  • Side dishes for meat, fish and vegetable dishes

Preparation:

  1. Rinse the rice in a sieve under running cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Bring water to a boil in a pot.
  3. Add the rice and some salt and bring back to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat and simmer the rice with the lid closed for about 15 minutes until it is cooked.
  5. Remove the rice from the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Tip:

  • Refine the rice with fresh herbs such as parsley or coriander.
  • For an even more intense flavor, you can fry the rice in a little oil before cooking.
  • Cigala Agulha rice is also an ideal base for risotto.
